On April 5th this year, The Ministry of Energy informed about a two-week public consultation on the act about the promotion of electricity from high-efficiency cogeneration. According to Ministry, one of the main objectives of the project is to improve air quality. The bill is prepared to support the development of installations with a capacity of up to 50 MW. The level of support depends on the production of heat for communal purposes. The regulations being prepared will also enable the development of the smallest installations - with individual buildings distant from heating networks and for small enterprises. The project providers assumed an increase in the level of investment and production maintenance in the existing combined heat and power plants.
Bearing in mind the planned decommissioning of cogeneration units, one may have concerns that the presented scenario of support for CHP in Poland will not contribute to achieving these goals, however the industry does not lose hope that the final version of the law will bring better solutions.
Due to the growing interest in the new support system for cogeneration, for the sixth time we are organizing a seminar "Development prospects of cogeneration". The event will take place on 27th-28th August 2018 in Płock, Poland. The seminar, based on past views, will consist of lectures and discussions. During the event, the possibilities of investing in all types of cogeneration will be discussed. The meeting will be attended by experts representing the largest energy concerns as well as local enterprises and companies cooperating with them. The speakers will analyze the profitability of construction and modernization of individual plants taking into account their size, location and selected technologies. They will also comment on the impact of support schemes on CHP development.
First day of the seminar, August 27, 2018 - will be focused on lectures and discussions. Agenda is availavable under the link |
On the second day - August 28, 2018, a CCGT Block touring will take place. Participants will have the opportunity to visit the newly opened CCGT unit with an electricity capacity of 600 MWe and heat capacity of 520 MWt at the Płock refinery and petrochemical plant. Currently, it is the largest of its kind combined heat and power plant in Poland owned and operated by PKN Orlen. photo Orlen |
The program of the seminar will focus on:
- the development of cogeneration in Europe
- cogeneration and the capacity market
- future support system for industrial and system heat and power plants
- production of cold, heat and electricity in combination
- new system heat plant - waste vs. multi-fuel mix
- ORC as a proven technology for power generation in cogeneration
- flexible gas cogeneration - energy security
- models of financing and co-financing cogeneration investments
To take part in the seminar we encourage employees of:
- power plants, heat and power plants, heating plant
- energy-intensive industries
- enterprises considering the construction / modernization of production capacity for their own needs
- sewage treatment plants
- non-industrial facilities with high demand for electricity and heat / cold
- potential investors, product suppliers and technological solutions
- consulting companies and law firms
- enterprises from the industrial construction sector and project contractors
- banks financing energy investments
- government, local governments, industry chambers and associations
Take advantage of our experience. Since 2011, several thousand experts from the broadly defined energy sector and industries related to this sector have taken part in the events organized by CBE Polska. Most events organized by CBE Polska were connected with cogeneration, and lot of them were dedicated to this subject.
On August 30, 2017, we organized 5th seminar "Development prospects of cogeneration" at Siekierki CHP Plant, Warsaw, Poland. Strategic Partners were:
