Virtual Power Plants, Energy Storage Systems and Renewable Energy Cooperatives

08:00 - 09:00 Registration and the morning coffee
Opening of the Forum. Welcoming the participants by the organizers and partners of the event.
09:00 - 09:25 Introductory lecture - Case study: Horizon 2020 European Commission Project GOFLEX (Generalized Operational Flexibility for Integrating Renewables in the Distribution Grid)

Coordiantor: IBM IRELAND. In cooperation with:
  • Technische Universitaet Dresden (Germany)
  • Inea Informatizacija Energetika Avtomatizacija (Slovenia)
  • Etrel Svetovanje In Druge Storitve (Slovenia)
  • Robotina (Slovenia)
  • B.A.U.M. Consult (Germany)
  • SWW Wunsiedel (Germany)
  • Haute Ecole Specialisee De Suisse Occidentale (Switzerland)
  • L'Energie De Sion-Region (Switzerland)
  • Aalborg Universitet (Denmark)
The GOFLEX project will innovate, integrate, further develop and demonstrate a group of electricity smart-grid technologies, enabling the cost-effective use of demand response in distribution grids, increasing the grids’ available adaptation capacity and safely supporting an increasing share of renewable electricity generation. The GOFLEX smart grid solution will deliver flexibility that is both general (across different loads and devices) and operational (solving specific local grid problems). GOFLEX enables active use of distributed sources of load flexibility to provide services for grid operators, balance electricity demand and supply, and optimize energy consumption and production at the local level of electricity trading and distribution systems.

Speaker:

10:40 - 11:05 Case study: Innogy SE (DSO, Germany)

"SmartPool" project

RWE / Innogy will use Siemens technology to build a system that makes it possible to connect a large number of parties in distributed energy resources, such as generators, consumers (loads) and storage units, to the IT system in a way that is both suitable for the mass market and can handle multiple clients. This new technology platform will be built as an energy information and control system and will provide, among other things, important functions for distribution grid operators against the backdrop of the energy transition to the new energy mix.

Speaker:
Dietmar Gross, Innogy SE (Germany)
