50Hertz Transmission GmbH operates the transmission grid in the northern and eastern part of Germany. As a part of the European Grid it is directly connected to neighbor countries such as Poland, Czech Republic and Denmark. 50Hertz coordinates the interaction of all players of the electricity market in the federal states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. 50Hertz is responsible for the operation, maintenance, planning, and expansion of the energy transmission grid throughout the northern and eastern part of Germany. Veolia Energia Warszawa S.A. manages one of the largest district heating network in the EU, supplying system heat and hot water to 80% of buildings in Warsaw, Poland. Since October 2011 it is part of the international Veolia Group. Intelligent Heating Grid is a key investment of Veolia Energia Warszawa S.A., which aims to support and improve the management of the heating network in Warsaw. Within the framework of the project, the district heating network will be equipped with modern infrastructure, allowing for monitoring and integrated management of individual elements. The applied technologies will allow to remotely control the operation of three pumping stations, 79 heat chambers and 2500 heating nodes.
