Bernadett Papp

Bernadett Papp joined Vertis Environmental Finance in January 2012 as analyst. She graduated from the university ELTE in Budapest and did her MBA at the University Jean Moulin 3 Lyon 3. For more than five years she worked for the investment arm of Erste Bank as equity research analyst and covered mainly companies from the energy sector. She writes a blog based on technical analysis called tradingroom.vertis.com
Her opinion on the carbon market is regularly quoted by Bloomberg, Carbon Pulse, Argus, Montel and Platts.

Krzysztof Stepien

Krzysztof Stępień, Head Economist for PGE Dom Maklerski S.A.

Presently responsible for economic analysis of resource market in reference to possible investments in energy, gas and CO2 emissions markets. Mr. Stępień has been involved in financial markets analytics from the beginning of his professional career. Firstly, as an analyst and manager in the "Parkiet" Stock Exchange Journal, later as a Lead Analyst in Matris Consulting, Head Economist in Expander, Lead Analyst in AgioFunds Investment Funds Association and Investment Director in Opera TFI and analyst in KBC TFI. Graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics with specialization in International Economic and Political Relations. Krzysztof Stępień is also a frequent Speaker on various professional development and postgraduate studies in reference to financial markets and communication between companies and investors, comentator in media on financial and market related issues.

Paweł Grzejszczak, Attorney-at-law, Partner, Infrastructure and Energy Department, Domański Zakrzewski Palinka

Paweł specialises in energy law, project finance transactions, privatisation projects, mergers and acquisitions, and energy company restructuring projects. He advises clients in the energy, heat and power, fuel and gas sectors on all aspects of energy company operations, mainly on regulatory, transactional, investment performance, infrastructure project financing, commercial contract, state aid and public procurement issues. He has a great deal of experience in cogeneration and renewable energy investment projects. Paweł takes part in large privatisation projects and IPOs in Poland, primarily in the energy sector.

Mariusz Więckowski, Partner, Areto  His experience in implementation of financial market products spans over more than 15 years. Until 2011 Mariusz was the Bank BPH director for development of treasury products and the distribution channels. In the years 2008-2010 he was the Project Manager of the MiFID implementation project within Bank BPH, which involved compliance adjustment of all the bank's divisions to the requirements of the MiFID Directive. He actively contributes to the work of the Polish Bank Association working groups (among others, EMIR Implementation Working Group); and Product and Regulatory Committees of the International Swaps & Derivatives Association (eg. the MiFID Consultative Group; the EMIR Consultative Group, the Documentation Committee). He has also conducted numerous training sessions devoted to derivative transactions, their documentation and their regulatory requirements.

PhD Joanna Maćkowiak-Pandera, Chief of the Forum for Energy Analysis 

Joanna Maćkowiak Pandera, PhD in impact assessment of investment projects, presently a senior associate in the Agora international think tank on energy.

In 2012 -2013 she was the director of the department for market development and a managing board member of the Danish Dong Energy. During the Polish EU presidency, she was undersecretary of state in the Polish Ministry of Environment. Earlier, she was the director of the political cabinet of Prof. Maciej Nowicki, the Minister of Environment between 2007 and 2010. During her tenure, she led the team which executed the pilot sale of the Kyoto protocol’s AAUs to the Spanish and Irish governments and contributed to the preparation of the COP14 climate summit in Poznań, Poland. Co-authored the energy and environmental security chapters of the Long-term Development Strategy for Poland to 2030; participated in the programming of the Multiannual Financial Framework for the years 2007-2013. She was an employee of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and of the Potsdam University. A scholarship holder of the Nowicki Foundation, Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, and the German Marshall Fund.

Joanna Maćkowiak-Pandera represents Agora Energiewende, an independent think-tank established for the purpose of supplying solutions to promote a cost-effective energy sector transformation. Agora initiates dialogues with a broad range of stakeholders and decision makers in Germany and its neighbouring countries.
