DPhD Iwona Jelonek, President of the Polish Pellet Council, will give a speech during our 8th Forum of Biomass and Waste. The event takes place on June 12 in Chorzów. She has a PhD in Earth Sciences, obtained in 2006 from the University of Silesia in Katowice (the Faculty of Earth Sciences) where she is a scientist and teacher at the Department of Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Petrography since 2006. She is a certified specialist in the field of clean coal technologies used in the power industry. Due to the fact that she is a specialist in the field of organic petrology, she is focusing on the combustion of biomass, coal carbonization process, and the variability of the degree of thermal maturity of the dispersed organic matter in sedimentary rocks. Research interests focus on issues related to the development of renewable energy sources. From 2014 onwards she is conducting intensive activities related to renewable energy sources which is reflected in the specific implementations carried out in the field of natural heat sources. More
