eso Lithuania's Energijos Skirstymo Operatorius (Energy Distribution Operator, or ESO) plans to invest around 219 million euros in installing some 2 million smart electricity and gas meters within five years.
Smart meters will help households save at least 7% of electricity per year. "We have completed a cost-benefit analysis and presented the project to the Energy Ministry, where we have the support. The project is included in the National Energy Independence Strategy. We have presented (the project) to the (National) Commission for (Energy Control and) Prices," according to Ignas Pranskevicius director of the Service Division.
freshenergy Fresh Energy cooperates with the smart meter company Discovergy. This gives them the opportunity to rethink their energy supply.
They supply their customers with 100% green electricity. The combination of green electricity, smart meters and smartphone app opens up completely new possibilities for their customers: the customers turn electricity consumers into active users of electricity who always have their energy and their costs at a glance and under control. In this way Fresh Energy saves electricity and money together and the environment is happy too.
