Christian WEINBERGER Christian Weinberger, Senior Adviser - Advanced Industrial Technologies/ Hydrogen Coordinator, DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs , European Commission

Christian Weinberger joined the European Commission in 1999 to work on technical harmonisation in the Common Market, using the New Approach with CE-marking and harmonized EN Standards. In 2003 he was appointed Head of Unit dealing with Entrepreneurship policy, identifying and disseminating good practices and preparing Commission Communications on SME topics. In 2008 he was named Entrepreneurship and SME Policy Advisor. During 2016 and 2017 he was Adviser to the Danube Region Macroregional Strategy promoting its business dimension.Since 2018 he is Senior Adviser on Advanced Industrial Technologies and Hydrogen Co-ordinator for DG Internal Market, Industry, SMEs & Entrepreneurship. Before joining the European Commission, Christian Weinberger worked for 10 years with a large multinational corporation in Marketing, Sales, Finance and Special Business Operations in various countries and at European HQ. He then co-founded an international SME in Information Technology and was its CEO for 9 years. Being a native Austrian, Christian Weinberger holds a Master of Physics in Engineering, an MBA and a Ph.D. in Economics.
jean-marc-leroy Jean-Marc Leroy, Vice-President for External Relations, Engie Group

Since 13 April 2018, Jean-Marc Leroy is Senior Executive Vice-President for External Relations. His role is to promote a global smart energy system underpinned by a sustainable and well-balanced energy mix. Prior to that, Jean-Marc Leroy was Managing Director for Gas Chain at ENGIE. Between January 2009 and July 2015 he was Chief Executive Officer of Storengy, the underground gas storage operator of ENGIE. Jean-Marc started his career in 1980 at EDF-GDF Services. Between 1997 and 2004, he held several key positions at Gaz de France : President's Chief of Staff, Secretary of the Board, Deputy Vice President for Strategy, Vice President for External Relations and Internal Communication. Between 2005 and 2009 he was in charge of underground gas storage and LNG regasification terminals at Gaz de France and subsequently GDF SUEZ. Since November 2015, he is President of Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE), now in its second mandate. Previously, between 2008 and 2013, he held the position of the President of Gas Storage Europe (GSE), the storage column of GIE. In December 2015, he became Board member of Global Gas Centre within the framework of the World Energy Council and in October 2018 he was elected at the IGU Executive Committee. Jean-Marc Leroy is also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of GRDF. Moreover, Jean-Marc Leroy is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ENSEEIHT, an engineering school of Toulouse's University gathering 1200 students and focusing on energy, environment and IT.

Marco Binotti Dr Marco Binotti, Project Director , Bionico

Mr. Marco Binotti holds a PhD in Energy and nuclear science and technology. He is an assistant professor of "Energy and Environmental Systems" at the School of Industrial Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. His research with the Group of Energy Conversion Systems (GECoS) mainly deals with techno-economic analysis and simulation of concentrating solar power systems, renewables and advanced energy conversion systems. He has been involved in European projects dealing with techno-economic assessment of innovative technologies for CO2 capture (CAESAR), hydrogen production (BIONICO) and energy conversion system based on supercritical CO2 cycles (sCO2-flex). He is the coordinator of BIONICO. He's author of over fifteen papers published on peer-reviewed journals.
