During the third edition of the seminar "Energy Clusters, Cooperatives and Virtual Power Plants in Poland", which will be held on 30 January 2018 in Warsaw, we will have the opportunity to listen to Joachim Bargiel, head of the Gierałtowice county, and Piotr Rzepka, Adjunct Professor of the Silesian University of Technology and PSE Innovation Main Consultant. Located in the poviat of Gliwice, the county of Gierałtowice is the founder of an energy cluster, in which it engaged, inter alia, Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa SA. The planned production of energy from renewable sources is to be complemented in this case with cogeneration from methane recovered from a nearby mine. The Institute of Design and Analysis, the National Energy Conservation Agency and the Control Process company as the cluster's coordinator are also involved in the creation of the "Cluster of Mining and Agricultural Energy of the Gierałtowice County". The plans include construction of photovoltaic power plants, biogas plants, energy storage and infrastructure for charging electric cars, but also cogeneration sources based on methane recovered from mines.
